Catherine Cralle Jones

Senior Litigation Associate

Catherine (“Cathy”) Cralle Jones joined the team at the Law Offices of F. Bryan Brice, Jr., in 2006.  She focuses her practice on environmental litigation and has represented many property owners, business operators, and citizen groups in matters involving mold, groundwater and soil contamination, regulatory compliance, toxic torts, and land use matters. Her experience includes cases involving CERCLA, RCRA, OPHSCA, the Clean Water Act, NEPA, and the Endangered Species Act.  After working in Austin and Longview, Texas, and Greenville, North Carolina, Cathy moved to the Raleigh area and joined the Law Offices of F. Bryan Brice, Jr., working as a senior litigation associate. Since joining the firm, Cathy has regularly represented individuals, families and  businesses large and small  in a wide range of interesting and varied cases, from personal and property injury arising from crop dusting overspray to groundwater contamination from neighboring agricultural operations.

Cathy has been admitted to practice in the State of North Carolina (2001), the State of Texas (1989), the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals (1993), and several federal district courts, including the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina (2006). She is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association and serves on the Council of the Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources Section.

Raised in San Angelo, Texas, Cathy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Christian University in 1982, and was also a member of the academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa. In 1989, she received a Juris Doctor degree from Vanderbilt Law School as well as a Master of Divinity degree with honors from Vanderbilt Divinity School.  She is married to Philip N. Jones, an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and they have two children, Hannah and Zachary. Cathy serves as an elder, Sunday School teacher, worship leader, and handbell director at St. Paul’s Christian Church. She is a regular volunteer in the Wake County Public Schools, an active member at the YMCA, and in her few spare moments enjoys gardening and snow skiing.
